How It Works:
WhatsApp has introduced a groundbreaking feature that can revolutionize how users interact with voice messages. With the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.24.7.8), users can now transcribe voice messages into text format. This allows users to conveniently read the message content instead of relying solely on playing the voice note.
Privacy and Security:
One of the key highlights of this feature is its commitment to privacy. WhatsApp utilizes the device’s speech recognition capabilities to generate transcripts locally on the user’s device. This ensures that user privacy is maintained, as the transcription process takes place entirely on the user’s device. Enabling the Feature:
Upon the feature’s release, users will be prompted to download approximately 150MB of additional app data to enable it. While the feature will be enabled by default for most users, some may need to manually enable it in their settings. Once enabled, users will receive a notification encouraging them to “Read before you listen with transcripts,” indicating that transcribed message content is available.
