In her usual funny and honest style, Twinkle Khanna, also known as Mrs. Funnybones, shared her thoughts on Valentine’s Day in a recent column for The Times of India. She pondered on why Valentine’s Day became a thing, suggesting it might have started as a way to boost post-Christmas sales and get people to spend their hard-earned money on gifts again.

Twinkle, who has been married to actor Akshay Kumar since January 2001, humorously questioned what husbands give their wives, especially after being married for over a decade. She jokingly wrote, “What did your husband give you on Valentine’s Day? As usual, a headache.” She reflected on the consumerism associated with Valentine’s Day but also acknowledged that, despite the material gifts, love is a unique and sometimes paradoxical experience.

According to Twinkle, love is like a thought experiment, a puzzle where accepting each other’s imperfections creates a connection that is perfectly imperfect. Whether or not there are red roses or cute cartoon cards involved, love, for Twinkle, goes beyond the materialistic aspects often associated with Valentine’s Day.
