India’s cricket captain, Rohit Sharma, recently shared his thoughts on how the closely contested series against England has helped him grow as a leader.
India’s 3-1 Comeback
Despite England winning the first Test, India made a strong comeback, securing a 3-1 lead ahead of the final match in Dharamsala starting on Thursday.

Taking over as Test captain from Virat Kohli in 2022, Rohit has maintained an unbeaten record in five series, excluding India’s loss in the World Test Championship final last year.
England, under the leadership of Ben Stokes, played an aggressive style of cricket known as “Bazball” and won the opening match by 28 runs, providing a tough challenge for India.
One remarkable aspect of India’s performance was the ability to counter challenges despite the absence of key players, including Virat Kohli, who chose to skip the series due to the birth of his second child.

The series also showcased emerging talent, with 22-year-old opener Yashasvi Jaiswal impressing everyone with remarkable double centuries in the second and third matches.
In the bowling department, Indian players excelled, with Jasprit Bumrah, the pace spearhead, and veteran spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja each accumulating 17 wickets in the series.
