The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has hit a major milestone by selling 1 lakh units since its launch in April 2023. This compact SUV achieved this remarkable feat in just 10 months, making it the fastest car ever to reach such high sales figures in India.
Surpassing its predecessor, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, which took 12 months to reach the 1 lakh units mark, the Fronx has proven to be a favorite among Indian car buyers.

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer for Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, shared that the Fronx played a crucial role in more than doubling the company’s SUV segment share, increasing from 10.4% in 2022 to an impressive 19.7% in 2023.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx offers two engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol engine with 89.73PS of power and 113Nm of torque. The second is a 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol engine with 100.06PS of power and 147.6Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Meanwhile, the 1.0-litre engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
For those looking for a CNG option, the Fronx offers the 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol engine with 77.5PS and 98.5Nm, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Maruti Suzuki reported that automatic variants of the Fronx contributed 24% to the total sales volume.
Exporting began in July 2023, with over 9,000 units shipped to markets in Latin America, the Middle East, and South-East Asia.
