Good news for Indian electric vehicle enthusiasts! Kinetic Green has just launched the E-Luna, an electric version of its popular Luna scooter, at an attractive introductory price of Rs 69,990 (excluding showroom charges). The electric scooter boasts an impressive claimed range of 110km on a single full charge, making it an ideal choice for urban and rural customers.

Bookings for the E-Luna started on January 26, and the response has been overwhelming, with over 40,000 customer enquiries. Kinetic Green has set an ambitious target to sell 1,00,000 units of the E-Luna in the fiscal year 2025. The company assures that the total cost of ownership for the E-Luna will be below Rs 2,500 per month.

Designed and engineered entirely in India, the E-Luna has a payload capacity of 150kg. It is equipped with a 2.2kW BLDC mid-mount motor paired with an IP67-rated 2kWh lithium-ion battery. The scooter features fast-charging battery technology and offers swappable battery options, providing added convenience for users.

With a top speed of 50kmph, the E-Luna is built on a dual-tubular, high-strength steel chassis and features telescopic forks at the front, sitting on 16-inch wheels. The combi-braking system enhances safety, while the CAN-enabled communications protocol and digital instrument panel bring a modern touch to the scooter.

Charging the battery takes approximately four hours, and the company plans to introduce 1.7kWh and 3.0kWh battery pack options in the future. The E-Luna offers three riding modes and includes features like a USB charging port, a detachable rear seat, and a side stand sensor for added convenience.

Arun Firodia, Chairman of Kinetic Group, expressed pride in the fact that the E-Luna is 100% designed and made in India. The key components, including the chassis, transmission, smart controller, digital cluster, and motor, were developed by group companies like Kinetic Engineering, Kinetic Communications, and Kinetic Electric Motor Company.

The E-Luna comes in five vibrant color options – Mulberry Red, Pearl Yellow, Night Star Black, Ocean Blue, and Sparkling Green. Deliveries will commence nationwide soon, and the scooter will also be available on popular online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
