The atmosphere at the stadium was electric as the crowd erupted in ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chants right from the first ball of the innings, expressing their joy at Kohli’s return to the T20I format.

The Afghanistan team, displaying commendable batting prowess, set a challenging target of 173 runs. Gulbadin Naib’s rapid half-century, scoring 57 off 35 balls, significantly contributed to their competitive innings. Despite a late surge from Afghanistan, with a dramatic final over that included a team hat-trick for India led by Arshdeep Singh, the visitors managed to post a total of 172 all out in their allotted 20 overs.
