Hardik Pandya Talks About Rohit Sharma’s Support in Mumbai Indians

In a recent interview, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya spoke about the continued support he will receive from his predecessor, Rohit Sharma, despite the unexpected change in leadership for the upcoming IPL season.

Pandya, who previously led the Gujarat Titans, has returned to Mumbai Indians as captain for the 2024 season. Rohit Sharma, who led Mumbai Indians to five titles, was surprisingly replaced by Pandya for this edition.

Pandya expressed gratitude for Rohit’s ongoing guidance, stating, “It will not be any different, he will always be there to help me. This team, what it has achieved, it has achieved under him and I just have to carry forward that. He is going to have his hand on my shoulders.”

Addressing fans’ concerns about Rohit’s removal, Pandya emphasized the team’s focus on the sport and their performance. He acknowledged fans’ opinions but stressed the importance of focusing on what is controllable.

Regarding his own fitness, Pandya reassured fans, saying, “I have no issues with my body, I plan to play all the games.” He discussed his recovery from an ankle injury sustained during the ODI World Cup, expressing confidence in his readiness for the IPL.

Coach Mark Boucher, also present at the media interaction, spoke highly of Rohit Sharma’s form and expressed anticipation for his performance in the upcoming matches. He praised Rohit’s recent batting performances against England.
