Back Up Your Phone Before Trying Android 15

Remember, trying out early software like the first version of Android 15 might make your phone act weird, and you could lose your stuff. It’s smart to use a different Pixel device, not your main one, just in case Google’s new software has problems.

The first thing to do before getting the Android 15 test version is to make sure all your stuff is saved on your supported device. Why? Test versions are like baby software – they’re still learning to walk, so there might be mistakes, apps might shut down, and other things could go wrong, making it hard to use your phone or tablet every day.

Your Pixel should normally save your stuff automatically when it’s on Wi-Fi and you haven’t used your phone for a bit (plus it’s charging). But you can also do it yourself. Depending on how much stuff you have and how much room is left on Google Drive, you might need a Google One subscription.

To save your Pixel phone, go to Settings > Google > Backup and tap Back up now. It could take a few minutes, depending on when you last saved your stuff and how much needs to be saved. Once it’s done, you’re all set to start the process of getting and putting Android 15 on your phone.
