A Big Day in India: Sachin Tendulkar Celebrates Ram Temple Opening

Sachin Tendulkar has declared January 22 as a historic day for India. The legendary cricketer believes that the opening of the Ram Mandir, also known as ‘Pran Pratishtha,’ will be a significant inspiration for the next generation of Indians. He shared his sentiments in an exclusive interview with India Today, expressing pride in the cultural and spiritual heritage of the country.

Sachin, accompanied by his wife, attended the event in Ayodhya, describing the experience as exceptionally special and expressing immense happiness. According to him, this moment marks the realization of a dream for all Indians. Sachin is confident that this historical event will instill a sense of pride in the upcoming generations, and he looks forward to bringing his entire family to witness such moments in the future.

The cricket legend was among the distinguished guests, including industrialists, politicians, and film stars, who graced the ceremony in Ayodhya. Other former Indian cricketers like Anil Kumble, Ravindra Jadeja, and Venkatesh Prasad, along with female sports personalities like shuttler Saina Nehwal and former India cricket team captain Mithali Raj, were also present at the ceremony.

Providing details about the Ram temple, it was revealed that the structure was designed in the traditional Nagara style, measuring 380 feet in length, 250 feet in width, and 161 feet in height. Chandrakant Sompura and his son Ashish designed the temple, situated in a 70-acre complex, with the main temple covering 2.7 acres and a built-up area of around 57,000 square feet. The entire project, valued at Rs 1,800 crore, was financed by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which received donations totaling over Rs 3,500 crore from across India and abroad.
