UPSC 2023 Result Out: Aditya Srivastava Tops Across India!

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the result of the Civil Services Examination-2023 on Tuesday. A total of 1016 candidates have been selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Among these, 180 candidates will become IAS officers, and 200 will become IPS officers.

Aditya Srivastava from Lucknow has secured All India Rank 1. Meanwhile, Animesh Pradhan secured the second position, and Ananya Reddy secured the third rank. Candidates can check their results on the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in.

In the previous examination, Aditya had secured the 216th rank. Aditya pursued his studies from the Aliganj branch of CMS, a private school in Lucknow. Last year, Aditya secured the 216th rank. Currently, he is undergoing training at the IPS Training Academy in Hyderabad. His family resides in Vikas Nagar, Lucknow. Aditya passed his 12th-grade examination in 2014 with approximately 98.4% marks.

In 2022 and 2021, Women Secured All India Rank 1

For the past two years, women have topped the UPSC Civil Services Examination. In 2022, Ishita Kishor secured AIR 1. In UPSC CSE 2021, Shruti Sharma secured All India Rank 1.

In 2022, Garima Lohiya, Uma Harthi N, and Smriti Mishra were among the top rankers. In 2021, the top three ranks were held by women. Ankita Agrawal secured AIR 2, while Gamini Singla from Chandigarh secured AIR 3.

In 2023, the percentage of women passing was 34%.

For the past 5 years, there has been an increase in the percentage of women passing the UPSC Civil Services Exam. In 2018 and 2019, the female pass percentage was 24%. In 2020, it reached 29%. However, in 2021, it dropped by 3 points to 26%. In 2022, this figure was once again at 34%. Out of the 933 candidates selected last year, 320 were women

Mains, Personality Test Marks Contribute to UPSC CSE Merit List

The Civil Services Examination consists of three parts – Prelims, Mains, and Personality Test.

There are 9 essay-type papers in the Mains exam. Two of these papers are of a qualifying nature, meaning only passing these two papers is necessary. Their marks are not included in the merit list. The merit list is prepared based on the marks from Paper 1 to Paper 6 and the Personality Test.
